Pollinator Garden Workshop
Saturday, April 14 from 10am – 12pm at White Mountain Research Center
At our free Pollinator Garden Workshop, you’ll hear from local experts about hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and how you can create a blooming haven for pollinators.
If you’re like most people, you probably can’t imagine a world without fruits, vegetables, wildflowers, and other flowering plants. However, you may be surprised to hear that these are now at risk – and that’s because butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators are threatened by habitat loss. Pollinators like these help plants reproduce by moving pollen from bloom to bloom. But as pollinators disappear, this important service they provide isn’t getting done.
Good news, though: there’s a way you can help! Join Eastern Sierra Land Trust’s Eastside Pollinator Garden Project, and we’ll help you turn your yard into a beautiful haven for butterflies, hummingbirds, and all the other pollinators that keep the Eastern Sierra blooming.
With support from US Fish & Wildlife Service and California Native Plant Society – Bristlecone Chapter, we will provide guidance, information, and resources – including a voucher for $125 worth of native plant purchases – to anyone in Inyo and Mono Counties who is ready to create their own certified pollinator garden. And once we’ve visited and certified your garden as pollinator-friendly, you will be given an ESLT Pollinator Garden Plaque to display in your yard.
Since we began our Eastside Pollinator Garden Project in 2014, ESLT has helped certify 95 gardens all over the Eastern Sierra. This year we hope to build on that success by certifying an additional 20 gardens and community spaces as pollinator-friendly habitats. Will yours be our 100th Pollinator Garden in the Eastern Sierra? Get your garden growing today!
There are so many ways to design a pollinator-friendly garden – the options are limitless! Our team will help you bring your vision to life and create a garden that’s beautiful and buzzing with activity.
